This British Enfield No. 5 Mk I Jungle Carbine was made in 1947 at the BSA Shirley Factory. It was made in the last year of production. Out of a total of 251,368 guns that were made, only 81,329 were made by BSA Shirley.
This is all correct as it left the factory except for the magazine which has been replaced. This rifle is also NOT import marked.
This rifle has a early type stock with the metal forend cap. The forearm is serial numbered to the receiver.
The following parts have the original and correct BSA part stamps. Flash hider, stock pieces, barrel band, nose cap, butt plate, trigger guard, bolt head, rear sight, bolt and cocking piece.
The rear sight is a correct and an original No5 Mk1 800 meter sight.
