This British Enfield No. 4 Mk I Bolt Action Rifle was made at Fazakerley and is chambered in .303 British cartridge. Serving as the bedrock of British and Commonwealth forces during World War II and beyond, the No. 4 Mk I represents a pinnacle evolution in battlefield bolt-action design, engineered to be stronger, faster to manufacture, and inherently more accurate than its predecessors.
This historic firearm features the trademark Enfield cock-on-closing bolt system, celebrated by historians and marksmen for its incredibly smooth travel and fast rate of fire. Feeding from a sturdy, 10-round detachable box magazine—easily reloaded via standard 5-round charger clips—it offers a higher capacity than almost any other standard-issue infantry rifle of its time.
This numbers on this rifle are forced matching. The bolt flat was renumbered (very common) to match the receiver, magazine and forearm. The stock in very good condition, tight fitting, no splits or cracks .The 4 groove bore has a tight muzzle and is in very good condition. Headspace was checked with a Forrester field gauge and passed easily. The bolt has a No1 marked bolt head.
