This rifle is one of a kind. The pictures are of the actual rifle you will receive.

This K98 Mauser has the code and date of BCD 4 which signifies it was manufactured by Wilhelm Gustloff Werke in 1944. Only 338,881 rifle were made that year by Gustloff which is a low number when it comes to total K98 production.

Typical of bring back guns, this gun has NO import mark. The bolt body is unnumbered but it bears the correct "I" mark and well as the receiver. The marks  “I”, “i” or “1” stands for Elite Diamant or Astra-Werke Chemnitz which were Gustloff subcontractors for parts. Front barrel band and bayonet lug are also marked with the “1” mark. The cleaning rod and rear sight spring have what appears to be the “i” mark as well.

The barrel and both barrel bands have matching numbers. The bolt shroud, safety and extractor are Waffenamt. The trigger guard has a "d" mark, a subcontractor of Gustloff. Floor plate is not original to gun.

Stock is extremely nice and clean, free of cracks. It is marked with the H cartouche (Heer army). Buttplate has reddish brown paint on the inside of the cup.

Bore is near perfect, bright and shiny with strong rifling.

This rifle comes with an original sight hood and cleaning rod.

This firearm must be cleaned and inspected by a qualified gunsmith prior to firing. The firearm listed is sold as is, without warranty expressed or implied. Family Firearms is not liable for any injuries resulting from use.
