Astra 600/43 9mm caliber manufactured in 1945 (p date code), no import markings, in excellent condition!
The frame, slide and barrel are matching numbers, the bore is in excellent shiny condition, grips are free of cracks or damage and bluing is also very nice as seen in the pics. The 8rd magazine is correct but not matching to the gun which is very common. The barrel measures 5.3” and the overall length of the pistol is 8.1”. The gun has been taken apart and inspected for functionality but not test fired. Condition can be seen in detailed pics.
This Astra 600/43 was one of the last guns manufactured in the German contract of 55,000 guns. Once the invasion of Normandy happened, Germany lost the factory in France which inspected and waffenampt their pistols. This is why inspections of the marked guns and their serial numbers are very important as many are faked. This gun was part of the contract paid for by the Germans but they never received. After the war, Germany needed handguns for their Police departments and other agencies so they struck a deal with Spain to buy them again and be shipped over around 1951. Soon there after they started to produce a new version of the P38 with an alloy frame and designated it the P1 which made the Astra antiquated and they had a gun made in the motherland. Many of these Astra pistols never got issued and why you can rarely find them in this condition. A great shooting gun with a lot of history.
