This rifle was custom built for target shooting in the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association (DCRA) matches and others around the world.
It started out as an excellent condition 1943 Long Branch No. 4 Mk 1 receiver. They installed a new match grade 7.62 NATO spec barrel custom tuned to shoot surplus ammo effectively out to 800 to 1000 meters.
The rear sight base was unaltered so standard rear sights could be used but this gun has a Parker-Hale PH5C (scaled for 7.62mm) rear sight (no aperture). No alterations to the receiver was necessary for this sight.
The stock was an unissued full length No4 stock with a modification for the Parker Hale target sight . It has the addition of a target sling swivel and screw replacing the forward receiver screw.
The rifle comes with an original .303 magazine BUT IT WILL STILL BE SINGLE SHOT as the original magazine is not suited for 7.62 ammo. The magazine is for supporting the round before shooting.
Condition: the metal and wood are in excellent condition, see pictures as there are many detailed ones and the bore is like a mirror, bright and shiny. Stock has no cracks or breaks and is solid.
These guns were proof tested and are known to be very accurate and collectible guns and are very rare in the United States.
