This rifle is one of a kind. The pictures are of the actual rifle you will receive.
This is an early Mauser Bannered DSM34 .22 cal German military training rifle that is non import marked. It is stamped DEUTSCHES SPORTMODELL on left side of the receiver, the right side is stamped Mauser-Werke A.G. Oberndorf A.N., Kal .22 Lang Fur Buchsen. There are several other proof marks as well (see pics).
All stamped metal parts are matching serial numbers and the bolt has its original safety, which is rare in itself. The safety is a weak part of the design and if not taken care of properly it could break. This is why most have been replaced.
The front sight is drift adjustable and the rear sight is adjustable out to 200 meters.
Bore condition is excellent, shiny.
Bluing on this rifle is in very+ good condition for its age (see pics). The stock is also in great condition exhibiting no cracks and only minor bumps and bruises. The takedown disk and sling slot have been expertly plugged and the bottom of the buttstock is fitted with a sling swivel post. The original buttplate had been replaced with a metal one.
These rifles share a reputation of excellent shooters and one of the favorite bring back guns of GI’s.
