This barreled action is one of a kind. The pictures are of the actual item you will receive.

This German K98 barreled action “243-38” is a highly desired code and date. It was made at the Mauser-Werke AG, Borsigwalde a secondary facility to the main Oberndorf plant. 1938 was a transition year where the earlier "S/243" code began to be replaced by just "243" and the known serial number range for the code “243” rifles made in 1938 is from 594i to 6157r, with an estimated production run of 70,000 rifles. Only rifles issued to the Army are known.

Wiemar eagles are above the serial numbers on barrel and receiver and 3 Nazi style eagles used by Waffenamt team “280” are on the side of the receiver. The 280 proofs are also on the bottom of the barrel.

This action was a Russian capture as evident by the x on the receiver and it has been reblued by them which is a common practice. The action had fine pitting all over the top of the receiver before being reblued but all markings are visible (see pics) . All remaining parts on it are Waffenamt marked see pics.  From bore condition see pics. The bore appears to have strong rifling. It needs to have a good cleaning.

This firearm must be cleaned and inspected by a qualified gunsmith prior to firing. The firearm listed is sold as is, without warranty expressed or implied. Family Firearms is not liable for any injuries resulting from use.
