This Star Model Super B is a military contract pistol due to the installation of the lanyard loop. This pistol was manufactured in 1987 (F2 and proofs marks under the grip) and there are no other stamps to say where it may have been issued.
The bore is shiny with strong rifling. There is scattered light pitting near the muzzle end of the barrel. This pistol comes with one correct 8rd magazine.
This pistol has been detailed stripped. There has been issues of damaged firing pins in these models. The firing pin in this Star is in excellent condition an everything is as it should be.
The Super B was a modernized version of the Model B with the following key features: A quick-release lever on the right side of the frame allows for rapid field stripping without removing the slide stop, a feature intended for ease of maintenance in the field. They also have a quick-takedown lever and a linkless barrel system similar to the Browning Hi-Power which improved durability and simplified manufacturing. All Super B models feature a robust external extractor, which is often easier to inspect and replace than internal 1911-style extractors. In addition the Super models featured raised sights compared to the original Model B, with a white dot system for improved visibility.
