This flare gun is one of a kind. The pictures are of the actual pistol you will receive.
This flare gun was made early in the war around 1942 by the Columbia appliance company that was later reorganized as Columbia Machinery & Engineering Corp. It still retains a majority of its “flashed zinc coating” which is missing on most of the examples out there. Everything works as it should and action is tight. There is some pitting inside as well as outside of the barrel which is common on all the examples we could find. The left side of frame stamped "Columbia APPL. Corp. L.I.C. N.Y. U.S.A." and the right side of frame is stamped MOD-3". It features a heavy brass frame with 8” steel barrel.
This is a rare chance to add this flare pistol to your WWII Navy collection!
These are not considered Destructive Devices unless you have anti-personal round in possession with it. See this document that contains the ATF Ruling on gas guns.
