This rifle is one of a kind. The pictures are of the actual rifle you will receive.
This is a Savage 24 series P marketed as “field grade” (made between 1977- 1988) in .22 long rifle over .410 shotgun. The barrel release on this model is on the tang of the rifle and barrel selector is on the hammer. These last 2 modifications simplified production but more importantly added to the reliability of the gun.
The rifle looks like it was gently used and well cared for its age. The bores on both barrels are near perfect. The case coloring, bluing and wood are very nice as you can see in the detailed pics. The Simmons Scope that is mounted is in great shape as well. The trigger guard is made of polymer and has a small crack at the rear screw hole. From my understanding this is a common issue. Everything on this rifle functions as it should.
This rifle is extremely durable and simple to use for all ages. This model and configuration is considered the most popular combination of this rifle. For generations this was the gun many learned to hunt and shoot with and carries many fond memories. It was also called the “grouse getting machine”. It is also good for squirrels and other game. Add this rifle to your collection today. They are getting harder to come by in nice condition.
