The P239 was produced from 1996 to 2018, and offered in three calibers: 9×19mm Parabellum, .357 SIG and .40 S&W. The P239 was developed in response to demands from law enforcement and federal agents for a compact back-up pistol ideal for off duty carry or when a full size gun is too noticeable. It was also designed to mimic the controls on the full size 226 and 229 pistol they already carry. That is why the slim profile of this pistol provides easy concealment without sacrificing handling. They are well known for being very accurate and tough as nails in rough environments.
This SIG P239 has a barrel length of 3.6 inches and an overall length of 6.6 inches. The slide is made from stainless steel, the frame is made of alloy balancing both weight and durability. Both the frame and slide have Sig’s extremely durable proprietary Nitron coating. The trigger is double action/single action with a decocker (like most of the Sigs it mimics) and has a firing pin block. The weight of the SIG P239 is 28 ounces (unloaded) and the .40 S&W caliber magazine capacity is 7 rounds.
This P239 was part of a law enforcement purchase and was manufactured in 2012. It appears that this pistol was only used lightly. It is in excellent condition. It comes with the original box (well worn from storage), paperwork, lock and 3 factory magazines, 2 of which are still sealed in the original plastic packaging!
These have become very desirable being all metal gun and even rarer in this condition!
