This British Enfield No. 4 Mk I* Sporterized Bolt Action Rifle brings military-grade reliability into a classic, streamlined hunting configuration. It was made at the Maltby Factory in 1943. Chambered in the .303 British cartridge, this rifle features a smooth bolt action that the Enfield design is famous for. The traditional military stock has been professionally sporterized to reduce weight and improve handling in the field, making it an excellent choice for hunters, collectors, and target shooters alike.
The barrel features a 4 groove bore that is tight and has very strong rifling. Deep in the grooves it looks dark (which is very common with 4 groove British rifling) but it may clean or shoot out with a couple rounds. The barrel has been cut down to 23" to remove the bayonet lug.
This rifle has 300/600 rear flip sights. The original bolt is serialized to the receiver but the Long branch marked magazine does not match. The rifle was headspaced checked with a Forrester Field gauge and passed.
No import marks are found on this rifle.
